A venue name on a map is not proof that it is licensed, currently trading or entitled to operate gaming machines. Each proposition needs evidence appropriate to that fact.
Our evidence ladder
- Official register or regulator record: preferred for licence identity and status.
- Venue’s official channel: useful for contact details and trading information, but not a substitute for regulatory evidence.
- Mapping and directory data: used for discovery and cross-checking only.
- User submissions: treated as leads until independently verified.
Names do not always line up
A trading name, company name and licensed premises name may differ. Our data model preserves both venue_name and official_name, plus the exact source used. Where identity cannot be resolved confidently, the page remains unpublished.
What “not verified” means
It does not imply wrongdoing. It means the minimum publication record is incomplete or the available sources conflict. The appropriate next step is verification, not a guess.
Official starting point
Consumer and Business Services — register of gaming machine entitlements
This explainer does not list individual licences. Venue-level evidence will appear only after the approved 466-object Southern Coast ownership register is supplied and reconciled.
